With His Last Desperate Move to Save Joe, Chris Wallace Has Just Lost His Last Ounce of Credibility

When Wallace asked Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) about a vote against the Democrats’ emergency coronavirus relief package, which contained police cash, things soon went off the rails.
“Today, Joe Biden is being held prisoner in the White House by ‘the Squad’ and the radicals in the Democratic Party who rule their party and have spent the last year stigmatizing one of America’s most noble professions, law enforcement,” Banks stated. “It’s not only about defunding the police, which they completely support; they’ve also talked about withdrawing qualified immunity, which protects police officers who perform their job, over the last year. They discuss cashless warrants and sentencing reductions, as well as cashless bail, excuse me, and sentencing reductions.”
According to The Wrap, Wallace said, “Let me push back on that a little bit because of the program that he unveiled this week.” “The president stated that the $350 billion in the American Rescue Plan, also known as the COVID relief plan, is the most important portion of his anti-crime program. Take a look at the president’s remarks.”
“It means more police officers, more nurses, more counselors, more social workers, more community violence interrupters to assist settle this before it escalates into crimes,” Biden stated in a video.
“Congressman Banks, you, like every other Republican in the House and Senate, voted against that package, against the $350 billion, so can’t you make the case that it’s you and the Republicans who are defunding the police?” “Not at all, Chris,” answered Wallace, to which Banks replied, Let’s take a look at the Democrats’ responses to Rashida Tlaib over the last year —”

Respectfully, I get your point about the previous year, but you and every other Republican voted against the $350 billion.”
“It is very difficult for police officers around the country to encourage people to become police officers when Representative Omar believes policing is rooted in evil and Nancy Pelosi equates officers to stormtroopers,” says Banks.
“This is the situation that we see in police departments across the country. You can give them more money, which is fine, but they won’t be able to attract people to become police officers because we’ve stigmatized one of America’s most respected professions.”
This is plainly ridiculous. Chris Wallace is so eager to salvage sinking Joe that he’s accusing Republicans of “defunding the cops” because they don’t support the Democrats’ pork-laden, expensive, radical bills?
This man has lost his insatiable desire to love. He’s no longer considered a “journalist.” Wallace is the new “liberal Sean Hannity,” campaigning for Biden as if it were his full-time job.
