Meghan McCain revealed last week that she will be quitting ABC’s “The View” after three years as the show’s token conservative. McCain’s cohosts, according to insiders, are relieved that she is no longer on the show.
Now that more facts on what led up to Meghan’s departure have emerged, it’s evident that the entire performance was in disarray.

“Everyone was at their wits’ end — even Whoopi, who is the most laid-back of the bunch. Whoopi will never urge for someone to be fired. She was very clear that she no longer wanted to work with Meghan,” the source told Page Six.
Ana Navarro, a part-time conservative co-host, “probably drank so many goddamn margaritas” to celebrate McCain’s decision last week, according to the insider. According to another source, Goldberg, Navarro, and Joy Behar all informed network executives that they no longer wanted to work with McCain.
This source stated, “It happened as soon as [new ABC News president] Kim Godwin got in.” “The network convened an emergency meeting shortly after Joy and Meghan’s massive on-air meltdown in May.” ‘We don’t want to work with her anymore,’ they told the new management. Whoopi was adamant that she did not want to collaborate with her. There has been a slew of well-documented concerns, and Meghan has not been making the greatest impression.
“The hosts all came to Kim with complaints about Meghan,” a third source said.
McCain was supposedly supported by the previous ABC administration. According to reports, when McCain and Sunny Hostin couldn’t get along, the former brass told Hostin, “‘Get along with Meghan or get out.'”
“Meghan despised Sunny and didn’t trust her,” said the first insider. “She believed she was leaking information about her, and it was a difficult scenario for her. ‘Don’t make us pick between you and Meghan because we’re not going to select you,’ [ABC brass] basically told Sunny. Since then, they’ve maintained a phony friendship.”
However, according to another source, McCain and Hostin have since become friends.
“They were in a horrible spot at one point,” stated this person. “They have been there for each other and speak every day.”
Meanwhile, sources close to McCain have claimed that she was unhappy for a long period on the show.
One insider stated, “It was a difficult decision for her to make, but they got what they wanted.” “Meghan had wanted to go for quite some time. She’s tired of fighting this battle.”
