This is technically impossible, yet the man seemed hell-bent on bringing the plane down.
The deranged would-be hijacker was apprehended thanks to a group of burly passengers.
Stephon Jamar Duncan, the assailant, can be heard screaming in the video below as a group of passengers holds him down.

The story twist, on the other hand, is what has everyone surprised.
Mr. Duncan is actually a Delta flight attendant, as it turns out.
Stephon Jamar Duncan, a Delta Airlines flight attendant, was detained mid-flight by crew members and fellow passengers while traveling off-duty on a route from Los Angeles to Atlanta, according to officials. Duncan was detained when the jet was rerouted to Oklahoma City, according to ABC News. Duncan, 34, is still being held after the incident on Friday, June 11, 2021.
Duncan threatened to “take down the jet,” according to Oklahoma City Police spokesman Jermaine Johnson. Duncan allegedly made “terroristic threats,” according to authorities. Duncan was rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pain, according to police. Duncan was exhibiting signs of mental instability, according to ABC News.
“Thanks to the crew and passengers of Delta Airplane 1730 (LAX to ATL) who cooperated in arresting an irate passenger while the flight diverted to Oklahoma City,” Delta Airlines said in a statement (OKC). The plane landed safely, and the passenger was taken away by law authorities. We regret the delay and any further inconvenience this has caused our customers.”
Mr. Duncan was arrested and taken to the hospital after he complained of “chest aches” and showed indicators of mental illness, according to police.
No charges have been filed against Mr. Duncan as of yet; it appears that the FBI is waiting to see what federal charges will be made in this case.
