During former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial in January, Murkowski, a moderate Republican, voted to condemn him.
Murkowski was censured by the Alaska Republican Party following her conviction vote.
They also stated that they will seek out a Republican opponent, potentially setting up a face-off between the GOP establishment and Trumpworld.
"Tshibaka will also campaign as a strong opponent to illegal immigration, a staunch defender of the Second Amendment and an advocate for the military. Her campaign also called her 'unapologetically pro-life.'"https://t.co/myCGdUdiKO

The Republican Party’s future course could come down to a simple question in the 2022 midterm elections.
The McConnell-backed SLF, which had a $475 million war chest in the last election cycle, will now throw its weight behind Murkowski, as well as a host of other establishment incumbents.
“Alaska needs the kind of seasoned representation that Lisa Murkowski offers in the United States Senate,” SLF President Steven Law said. Her strong leadership is critical to Alaska’s future, whether it’s fighting for Alaskan interests like expanding oil production and preserving fisheries, or advancing conservative agendas like confirming judges and lowering taxes.
