This is a sad story about the cruelty of our “new President” Joe Biden and a man – w working-class hero.

“I spent my whole life learning this craft and this skill and it’s not as easy as somebody might think or people might think to just start all over at 45 years old,” said pipeline worker Jernigan. “I guess I could possibly get a job as a greeter at Walmart, I don’t know.”

This worker comes from a family of oil and gas workers – that’s his job as well as his life.

The trend towards a greener economy is a good move, but it should calculate exactly this kind of cases. These people are not just numbers to get lost in the calculation towards a safer economy – they have families and needs.

“I’ve been pipelining for 21 years. This is all I know to do,” he replied. “The recent administration has taken my livelihood from me and expecting me to get a job somewhere else. I’ve got my whole life invested in this.”

This is due to some changes of the new administration and Joe Biden is in a hurry to implement (but why?!)

Former Secretary of State, John Kerry announced that people from this working-class, who have lost their jobs in the pipeline cancellation, should be offered jobs in areas helpful for the future green economy.

However, that was not the case here, and probably, not the case in many other “should be” cases.

“First of all, I haven’t been offered a job in the solar panels industry and I haven’t been sent an application or a phone number or anything,” Jernigan said. “I don’t know if I have to do the work, the groundwork, and everything it takes to get there. And secondly, I’ve done the research, if I went to work for the solar panel right now, I would be taking a $35-an-hour pay cut and lose my benefits and retirement,” he calculated.
