With their face masks on, Vice President Kamala Harris and her partner, First Gentleman Doug Emhoff, shared a kiss on the tarmac on Tuesday.

Harris takes Emhoff’s face in her hands as they lean into each other and kiss through several layers of fabric in the clip. Harris then turns around and heads up the stairwell to the plane that is waiting for him.
Both Harris and Emhoff are fully vaccinated, and according to CDC guidelines, fully vaccinated people will congregate outside, unmasked. Despite the fact that it is unlikely that any of those present at the Vice Presidential send-off were unvaccinated, the two wore face masks.
Perhaps Harris and Emhoff were sending a message to the American people that, considering the CDC’s advice and reasoning, we should all remain masked at all times.
