“I think most people would drop out, I think he would drop out,” Trump said.
However, numerous rumors claim that DeSantis will run for President in 2024, but he claimed he won’t run in 2024 but focused on being reelected for governor in 2022.
“I’m not considering anything beyond doing my job,” DeSantis told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “We’ve got a lot of stuff going on in Florida. I’m going to be running for reelection next year, and we’re also working on a lot of things in the state beyond just the governor’s race.”
His spokesperson told the Hill, “he’s focused on Florida and doing his job as the governor of our state.”
“I just do my job. You know, we work hard, obviously, our state has led on a lot of things, including on this [monoclonal antibody treatment],” he said at the time. “Now other states are copying us. But that’s what it’s really all about—just helping folks here. I hear all this stuff, and honestly, it’s nonsense. So, you know, I don’t really know what to say to rumors.”
Trump hasn’t officially announced his candidacy, but he has given so many hints about it.
“I love our country,” he said in a recent interview with Fox News host Greg Gutfeld. “I think you’ll be very happy. I would say two, three years ago, you might not have been that happy, but now I think you’d be happy… I’ll make a decision in the not-so-distant future.”
When Trump had to answer if he plans to run in 2024, he said he’d have no choice regarding Biden’s incapability.
“I don’t think we’re going to have a choice,” Trump said. “It is disgraceful.”
