Trump allegedly claims to be ‘presumptive candidate for 2024,’ GOP leader in CPAC speech
Former President Donald Trump will announce that he is still in control of the Republican Party and is its “presumptive nominee for 2024” when, according to a study on Monday, he makes his first public speech at a conservative conference in Orlando next weekend.
“Trump’s keynote address at next Sunday’s conference of the Conservative Political Action Committee will be a “show of power,” and he will remind Republicans that even though he is not in the White House, he still has control of the bully pulpit, Axios said.
Trump’s message would be, “I may not have Twitter or the Oval Office, but I’m still in charge,” quoting a longtime advisor.
The former president, who has been hosting Mar-a-Lago Republican lawmakers, will huddle with advisors on his political future this week with a view to becoming a kingmaker in the 2022 elections.
Trump plans to remain a power among Republicans, senior advisor Jason Miller said.
