A turning Point USA hosted their AmericaFest convention over in Phoenix, Arizona, earlier in December.

Rep. Matt Gaetz floated an idea during an interview that could lead to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi breaking her gavel.

“While speaking with the Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson during an interview on December 19th, Rep. Gaetz was asked about the meaning behind the massive turnout at the Turning Point event in Phoenix with respect to the Biden administration,” The Gateway reported back in the day.

“It’s evidence that “The future in America doesn’t belong to the Biden’s. And frankly, it doesn’t belong to the left,” adding that when Republicans take control back in Washington that doesn’t want the party to revert back “to the Paul Ryan days where like, we would just pass bills and have the Democrat president veto them and claim that as some sort of moral victory,” Rep Gaetz claimed.

When Rep. Gaetz was asked whether he would support the possibility of former President Trump being nominated as Speaker of the House if Republicans regain the majority in 2022, the congressman noted that he was the first to promise he’d be among those nominating Trump as speaker.

“I was the first member of Congress to pledge that I will nominate Donald J Trump for Speaker of the House, and people like to laugh, but you know what? They laughed at the idea of him becoming president too. And that happened. So speaker Trump’s got a pretty good ring to it to me.”
