The Electric Reliability Council of Texas is responsible for the electricity supplying process. Texas was very close to experiencing a catastrophe with the energy grid during the cold snap. If this catastrophe happened, the state would have been in the dark and cold for a couple of months.
The only state in the U.S to run its own stand electricity grid was Texas. But, they hadn’t been forced to weatherize, and it isn’t federal oversight’s subject.

What Schumer said?
According to him, probably Texas learned its lesson. Schumer refers his statement to the authorities who ignored climate change.
