Texas Hospital Receives Lawsuit By 117 Employees for Requiring COVID-19 Vaccine

More than 100 employees at Houston Methodist Hospital sued their company, alleging that they were forced to get the COVID-19 vaccine in order to preserve their employment.

The 117 employees argued in court that their employers should not force them to take the COVID-19 vaccines since they are experimental and they don’t want to be “guinea pigs.”

In a comment to The Epoch Times on May 30, a spokeswoman for Houston Methodist denied the comment, saying that Bernard “did NOT say that to this dissatisfied employee,” and that he “has regard for all his employees—we are a values-based business with respect as one of our key pillars.” Boom’s letter elicited no response from the spokeswoman.

he lawsuit also claimed that requiring COVID-19 vaccines by employers is problematic because “there is much” the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “doesn’t know about these products even as it authorizes them for emergency use, including their effectiveness against infection, death, and transmission of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that is allegedly the cause of SARS.”

The attorney alleged that Houston Methodist pressured employees to obtain the shot in order to “promote its business” over its “workers’ health.” He pointed out that the majority of the plaintiffs in the case aren’t medical professionals.

After the complaint was filed, Boom published a statement claiming that 99 percent of the hospital’s almost 30,000 staff had gotten the COVID-19 vaccination.

“We proudly support our personnel and our mission of safeguarding our patients.

According to a hospital official, Boom remarked, “It is terrible that the few remaining staff who refuse to get vaccinated and put our patients first are behaving in this way.” “It is permissible for health-care facilities to require vaccinations.
