However, even a member of the Democrats, who has a clear vision and wants the truth to be truly revealed in the eyes of the Americans, can conclude that this approach can’t provide the true answers.
CNN reported that Democratic Senator Chris Coons of Delaware stated: “I think it’s important that we have a balanced January 6th commission.”
Even Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority’s Leader opposed her plan, even though he has a lot against Trump.
“The Speaker of the Houses proposes even more investigation through a new commission. She cites the precedent of the 9/11 Commission. But her draft bill fails to track with that precedent in key ways,” McConnell shared his opinion in a Senate floor speech.
“This time, Speaker Pelosi started by proposing a commission that would be partisan by design. Seven appointments for Democrats, just four for Republicans. If Congress is going to attempt some broader analysis of toxic political violence across this country … then, in that case, we cannot have artificial cherry-picking of which terrible behavior does and does not deserve scrutiny,” McConnell said.
According to Pelosi, the requested commission should in fact “investigate and report on the facts and causes relating to the January 6th domestic terrorist attack”, but additionally, it will reveal anything else “relating to the interference with the peaceful transfer of power, including facts and causes relating to the preparedness and response of the United States Capitol Police and other Federal, State, and local law enforcement in the National Capitol Region.”
Lady Maleficient’s latest desire is to have a commission with a seven to four majority for the Democrats.
