Candace Ayers, a cherished grandma from Springfield, Illinois, flew to Mississippi in July after having her second Moderna vaccination dosage in early March.

Marc Ayers, their son, recalled, “I took my parents to receive the second jab, and we were all very excited.” “We are a scientifically inclined family. Masks and immunizations are two things we believe in. We were eager to return to normalcy.”

Ayers tested positive for Covid after her journey to the south, and she was hospitalized for three weeks and put on a ventilator before passing tragically.

In Ayers’ obituary, the family slammed unvaccinated Americans because she visited a state with a “poor vaccination rate.”

Ayers stated, “This could have all been avoided.” “A few acts of goodwill may have prevented this. They lived in a state with one of the country’s lowest immunization rates. She would be here today if she had gotten a vaccine and put on a mask for others.”

“She had been vaccinated, but she was infected by those who had not. The price was her life, according to the obituary.

“She is survived by her beloved husband, Terry of Springfield, of nearly 43 years; her children, Marc (Samantha) Ayers of Springfield and Amanda Foster of Springfield; and her triplet 5-year-old granddaughters.
