All signatures were obtained prior to public knowledge of the coronavirus outbreak, as the World Health Organization (WHO) learnt on December 31, 2019, that there were suspected cases of mystery pneumonia in Wuhan, China, for which they had no cause.
Only after WHO released the information on Jan. 9, 2020, did China determine that the cause of this new pneumonia was a new coronavirus.
So, before the presence of a new coronavirus was revealed, Moderna, in collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, delivered coronavirus RNA vaccine technology to Dr. Baric.
Let’s take a look at who’s involved.
Before the world was aware of the new coronavirus, Moderna had developed the technology for a COVID-19 vaccine.
Dr. Fauci is accused of sponsoring gain-of-function research at the Wuhan facility, which is where the novel coronavirus is thought to have originated, while also participating in the deal. Fauci had to have been aware of the new virus’s existence.
Finally, there’s Dr. Baric, who did gain-of-function studies at his lab at the University of North Carolina and collaborated with Chinese researcher Shi Zhengli in the Wuhan lab to undertake the same tests. Fauci provided funding to both of them.
