The US military knew that they would face an attack at the airport.
On August 25, the US State Department warned the US nationals not to travel to Kabul Airport, Afghanistan, and the US told the waiting outside to leave!
However, the next day, on August 26, a suicide bomber caused the damage near the Abbey Gate at the Kabul Airport and killed 13 Americans: 11 US Marines, a Navy Hospital man, and an Army Stagg Sgt.

After the attack, one Marine lettered the Raid Team. The Marine who was there shared that they had a countdown before the bombing took place.
The Taliban allowed the bomber to get through the perimeter, but the Marines didn’t allow him to enter the perimeter. When he detonated the vest by the overcrowded Abbey Gate at the Kabul Airport, he was at the gate.
Marines saw that the Taliban were laughing because of the successfully fulfilled mission.
This Friday, Caz, the CEO of the Raid Team, said that he was part of the second Battalion, First Marines, for more than eight years. However, young men compromised the unit. Also, he announced that he would help people with mental health issues, precisely those who got back from war.

The Marine announced that the countdown was present and added: “The S Vest (suicide vest) countdown is no lie. I heard occasional radio chatter of them saying how far away the bomber was. Absolute incompetence. We had a Carl G and literally had to steal rounds because we were not given them….”
