The Democrat majority in the House has shrunk a smidgeon.
Reports from town halls:
Rep. Elect Julia Letlow Wins Special Election, Increasing the Number of GOP Women in the House to a New High
Julia Letlow, the widow of Rep. Elect Louisiana Luke Letlow (R-LA), decided to run for the seat after her husband, Rep. Elect Louisiana Luke Letlow (R-LA), died from COVID-19 complications. She won the race to represent Louisiana’s 5th congressional district in the final hours of Saturday night.
It’s not just because she’s taking her husband’s seat; it’s also because she’s carrying the torch and serving the good people of Louisiana’s 5th District, as her press release states: “What was born out of the awful tragedy of losing my husband, Luke, has become my mission in his honor to carry the torch and serve the good people of Louisiana’s 5th District.”
Rep. Elect Letlow, on the other hand, contributes to a shrinking Democratic majority in the House of Representatives and adds to the record number of Republican women serving in Congress.
