Psaki Scandal Continues – Look At This Unearthly Statement

With Fox News reporter Peter Doocy, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki had yet another tough go. On Tuesday, Doocy attempted to pin her down on the continuation of the juvenile immigrant detention facility previously named as “kids in cages” by the Biden administration.

The Biden administration is contending with a surge of refugees, including significant numbers of unaccompanied minors, seeking to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. In response, a tent facility in Carrizo Springs, Texas, and a shelter in Miami, Fla., were reopened by the administration to house migrant children.

The Texas detention center, however, is the same facility where the Trump administration was accused by Democratic lawmakers of putting “kids in cages” during a similar surge in border crossings.

Psaki told reporters on Tuesday, “This is not kids being locked in cages.” “This is an open facility that will meet with the same requirements as all [health and human care] services.”

Psaki said, “We are in a position where we will not remove unaccompanied minors from the border….” Under COVID protocols, we need to identify places that are healthy for children to be, where they can have access, consistent with their best interests, to education, health and mental services.

Psaki said the facilities will be run to minimize the spread of coronavirus according to guidelines.

The reopening of migrant children’s shelters comes after President Biden called for border detention centers to be closed during his campaign.

“Close them down,” Biden told a South Carolina audience in August when asked how to improve border detention center conditions.

This is, Ms. Psaki, the “circling back” we were promised.

“You didn’t think it was ‘kids in cages,'” Doocy directed in. We’ve seen a few pictures of the containers now. Is a better explanation available? Is it ‘children in barrels’ rather than ‘children in cages’? What is the definition of this facility by the White House?’
