Psaki Refuses To Answer Important Biden’s Quest

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki declined to respond on Sunday if her boss, President Joe Biden, still claimed that Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was “the gold standard during the pandemic for leadership,” a statement made earlier in 2020 by the president.

The question came from “This Week” on ABC News with Jon Karl.

As Cuomo attracts fire even from far-left leaders like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other New York Democrats, Psaki’s reaction has attracted ridicule from conservative commentators.

At the moment, Cuomo is under heavy fire for enforcing a policy early in the COVID-19 pandemic that required nursing homes to admit individuals who had tested coronavirus positive.

The governor and his administration have since been alleged to have sought to conceal data that revealed the real number of deaths from nursing homes.

ABC host Karl played a video calling Cuomo’s leadership “sort of the gold standard” by then-presidential candidate Biden.
We have now seen that Governor Cuomo in New York has reportedly undercounted nursing home accidents, deceived lawmakers,” Karl told Psaki.”

So, when it comes to pandemic leadership, does President Biden still consider Andrew Cuomo the gold standard? ”

“Psaki replied, “Well, Jon, we’re working with Governor Cuomo just as we’re working around the country with governors.

“Psaki added, “He is also chairman of the NGA, so he plays an important role in ensuring that we closely organize and provide assistance to the citizens of his state and to states across the region. “And we will carry on doing that.”

“There will be a process, of course,” she added. “We’ll leave that investigation to others to determine… how that path will move as we look forward.”

Basically, she was dodging Karl’s question.

Karl continued, “But Jen, my question was, did President Biden still believe during this pandemic that Andrew Cuomo represented the gold standard of leadership?” Just a yes or a no.
