Prince Harry argued in his candid interview with Oprah Winfrey two weeks ago that his older brother Prince William feels “trapped” in royal life. Now, a royal expert is claiming that this is not the case and that William is more than capable of becoming King.
William is upset by various claims made by Harry in his interview, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl of Entertainment Tonight.

“We’ve heard reports that Prince William was offended by Harry’s claims in the interview, not just by the suggestion of racism within the royal family,” Nicholl said.
“We’ve also heard from William’s friends who have spoken to the newspapers over here that he completely rejects his brother’s suggestion that he feels ‘trapped’ by the firm, that he feels trapped by his future role,” says the source.
“If you speak to sources close to William, they will tell you that this is not the case,” she added. “He’s eager to accept his destiny as a future king, and he’s eager to accept his responsibilities.”
“My father and my brother, they’re all trapped,” Harry said in an interview with Oprah. They are not allowed to go. And for that, I have a great deal of sympathy.”
The royal family responded with a short statement two days after the interview.
The statement read, “The entire family is saddened to learn the full extent of how difficult the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.” “The issues raised, especially the one of race, are alarming. While some recollections may differ, they are all taken seriously and will be addressed privately by the family. Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be cherished members of the royal family.”
“Clearly, we’re a long way from seeing any healing of this rift, but my understanding from the Cambridge camp is that if everything is going to be scrutinized and dissected in the media, there’s no way for them to move on,” she said. “I believe you will hear less and less about the current state of the relationship with the brothers because every time something is leaked to the media, it sets back those peace talks.”
On July 1, William and Harry will be reunited at Kensington Palace for the unveiling of a memorial to their mother, Princess Diana. However, we’ll have to wait and see if the brothers have reached an agreement by then.
