Edward-Isaac Dovere, a staff writer at The Atlantic, wrote a new book called “Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats’ Campaigns to Defeat Donald Trump”. In his book, he claims that Barack Obama never held back with his words against President Trump and that he regularly trashed Trump behind the scenes. Mostly at his closed fund-raisers and similar events. Obama is quoted in the book as allegedly calling Trump a “madman,” a “racist, sexist pig,” “that f***ing lunatic” and a “corrupt motherf***er.”
Having in mind how much he truly hates the guts of his successor, this is not much of a surprise. Just recently, he slammed Trump’s efforts to handle the COVID 19 outbreak.
“What we’re fighting against is these long-term trends in which being selfish, being tribal, being divided, and seeing others as an enemy — that has become a stronger impulse in American life. And by the way, we’re seeing that internationally as well. It’s part of the reason why the response to this global crisis has been so anemic and spotty,” Obama said, according to Yahoo News.
“It would have been bad even with the best of governments,” he added. “It has been an absolute chaotic disaster when that mindset — of ‘what’s in it for me’ and ‘to heck with everybody else’ — when that mindset is operationalized in our government.”
