Makiyah Bryant, a 16-year-old girl who was attempting to stab another male, was shot by Columbus police on Tuesday afternoon.
Makiyah Bryant, 16, was involved in a brawl before police arrived to investigate a stabbing attempt.
Following her death, protesters immediately took to the streets.

Makhia Bryant’s mother told reporters about her daughter, “She was a very caring, peaceful little girl.” She was 16 years old at the time. Makhia, on the other hand, had a motherly demeanor. She advocated for peace.”
That, however, was not captured on the bodycam.
Mikhia lunged with a knife at another young woman. She was shot dead because she refused to stop.
Not at all tranquil. Not in the least bit loving.
