Thi Wednesday, the Scandinavian countries, Denmark and Sweden announced that they would terminate the use of the Moderna vaccine, especially for younger groups, mostly due to rare side effects of myocarditis.
“The Swedish Health Agency has stopped using the vaccine for anyone born in 1991 or later after receiving data that shows an increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis in youth and young adults who have received the vaccine. Both conditions cause an inflammation of the lining around the heart. The connection is especially clear when it comes to Moderna’s vaccine Spikevax, especially after the second dose,” they stated.

Though Denmark has used the Pfizer vaccine for the younger groups, they also announced that they will terminate the further usage of the Moderna vaccine, as a “precautionary principle.”
“In the preliminary data … there is a suspicion of an increased risk of heart inflammation, when vaccinated with Moderna,” – Danish Health Authority.
