On Monday June 13th, 2022 at approx. 6:50 pm, Doylestown Township Police were dispatched to the Shell gas station located at 1807 S. Easton Road for the report of an attempted carjacking that had just occurred. The victim of the attempted carjacking was beginning to pump gas into their vehicle when they were approached by three young black males who ordered the victim to turn over their keys. After an attempt to physically restrain the victim, the victim was able to break free and run inside the gas station for help. Witnesses provided that they saw three young black males walking south on Easton Road in the area of Warrington Township. At approx. 8:00pm, Warrington Township Police were dispatched to the Luk Oil gas station located at 1400 Easton Road for the report of a carjacking that had just occurred. The victim of the carjacking was beginning to pump gas into their vehicle when they were approached by a young black male, later to be identified as a juvenile.
At the same time, two other young black males approached the victim from behind, later to be identified as another juvenile and 21 year old, Zahir Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa. The victim was placed into a chokehold, pulled backwards, and punched several times. At which point, the victim threw the keys at the vehicle. Both juveniles and Zahir Johnson fled the scene in the victims vehicle. Warrington Police observed the vehicle with the three suspects near the intersection of Route 202 and Route 152, a few miles from the Luk Oil gas station. Police initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. Police followed the last known direction of the vehicle, and found the vehicle crashed into a building at the intersection of Route 152 and E. Butler Avenue in nearby Chalfont. All three subjects fled from the vehicle and shortly after were taken into custody due to Warrington Corporal Blanchard with K-9 Jolie successfully tracking the fleeing individuals from the crash scene.
21 year old, Zahir Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa was remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail, 10% of $500,000.00.
