In the aftermath of increased COVID-19 cases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is due to provide revised mask guidelines for fully vaccinated Americans on Tuesday.
According to Reuters, the CDC is going to propose that fully vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors in at least certain situations, but the details remain unclear.
The CDC and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The CDC has scheduled a media briefing for 3 p.m.

Joe Biden announced obligatory vaccinations for all 115,000 front-line Veterans Affairs staff a few hours later.
California Governor Gavin Newsom declared shortly after that all public employees and healthcare practitioners will be required to be vaccinated. None of these occurrences are unrelated.
Keep in mind that the Federal CDC just declared that all U.S. healthcare professionals must transition to new COVID-19 rapid response tests. What’s the rationale? The current PCR test is unable to distinguish between COVID and influenza. The new tests will be able to tell the difference between the flu virus and the COVID virus.
