Kayleigh McEnany Slams Fauci Over His Wuhan Lab Report, Saying He “Can’t be Honest”

After a fresh report showed that COVID-19 did indeed originate in a lab in Wuhan, China, former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany went out on Wednesday to attack infectious disease specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci.

McEnany stated on Fox News that if the virus were to leak from this lab, it would suggest that American public funds were used to support the pandemic. She went on to say that if Fauci was aware of the risk linked with the Wuhan research and still approved money, he misled to Congress.

“He can’t be truthful because the truth would mean that very likely if this did originate in the lab, U.S. taxpayer dollars helped to fund a pandemic that was unleashed upon the world out of a lab in Wuhan, China,” McEnany said of Fauci. “What is so galling to me is when you read these 900 pages of documents that were obtained by The Intercept, the grant request actually acknowledges the dangers of this research.”

“So Dr. Fauci, I presume he read the application for the grant which said this: ‘The grant proposal acknowledges some of these dangers. Fieldwork involves the highest risk of exposure to SARS or other COVIDs while working in caves with high bat density overhead and potential fecal dust to be inhaled,’” she added.

“So presumably he read this and presumably he greenlighted the funding and now lying about it to Congress. But Senator Rand Paul has been on this from the beginning. I hope he continues,” McEnany concluded.

The Intercept uncovered records proving that Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases supported trials at the Wuhan Institute of Virology to produce coronaviruses “more pathogenetic than the original virus.”

Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) also urged that Fauci quit over the materials on Wednesday.

In a statement, he stated, “On May 12, I contended that Dr. Fauci had not been truthful about the US government’s sponsorship for gain-of-function research at the WIV.” “These documents are a smoking gun, indicating that he not only failed to be forthcoming, but also misled to the American people about his organization’s support,” says the author.

“We now know that U.S. taxpayer monies sponsored research at the WIV that generated a virus stronger than the original, naturally-occurring virus,” Gallagher stated, citing grant papers prepared by Peter Daszak. “This fits Dr. Fauci’s strict criteria for gain-of-function research, which he stated in a July letter to me.”

He went on to say, “He has repeatedly lied to Congress and the American people and should retire immediately.” “However, his resignation is insufficient. Congress should also look into this study and how these grants were distributed, to ensure that no bureaucrat can hide behind legal terminology and evade laws like this again.”

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) believes Fauci should retire as a result of this.

Paul tweeted on Tuesday, “Surprise surprise — Fauci lied again.” “I was also correct about his agency financing cutting-edge Coronavirus research at Wuhan.”
Fauci has repeatedly demonstrated that he is as crooked as they come and, as a result, cannot be trusted. McEnany, Paul, and his fellow Republicans have known all along that he is a liar, and it is time for him to step down.

It’s time to stop.
