Famous for her strict actions and lockdown measures and EO’s, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is now being under surveillance on the very same steps she made, because she obviously messed up “handling” the COVID 19 situation in the nursing homes around the state.

According to local newspapers, who brought the news across the state, “Eight Republican Michigan state senators sent letters to acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel on Wednesday, demanding investigations into Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s handling of COVID-19 in the state’s nursing homes.”

This is due to the recent info, that 5.549 deaths out of the suspected 16.436 (inside the facility nursing homes)  are due to COVID 19. The requested investigations are going to find information on whether Gretchen’s EO’s from the 15th of April last year (that demanded the prohibition of nursing homes to admit residents who were previously hospitalized with the virus), actually made it worse, contributing to the death toll.

Her nursing home EO’s allowed treated virus patients from hospital to be accepted, despite the possibility they could still be contagious.

Others say that there were some exceptions in this field, like for example, a person who had COVID 19 and was hospitalized could be admitted to a nursing home only if the home is below 80% capacity and, additionally, it has a special isolation unit to take care only for these type of patients.
