Another bites the dust. The biggest fake news peddlers now throw in the towel. Disgraced ex-NBC news anchor Brian Williams, notorious for telling lies and making himself look ridiculous, has called it quits. You’ll recall that NBC suspended Williams for six months, and they investigated his lies. Later they called him a serial liar and demoted him from NBC to lowly MSNBC.
USA Today reported that Brian Williams, in his first public comments since losing his anchor chair in a major demotion issued an apology for spreading lies.

“I am sorry,” he stated. “I am sorry for what happened. I am different as a result, and I expect to be held to a different standard.”
Excerpts were broadcast on Friday on Today.
After six months of an internal investigation, NBC stated that the veteran newsman wouldn’t be reinstated as the anchor of the Nightly News and instead would be slotted for anchoring breaking news and special reports of NBC’s sister cable network MSNBC.
They punished William for exaggerating his experiences and covered the Iraq War in 2003. So, NBC had to examine his past statements and conclude that he had stretched the truth on many occasions.
He was suspended for six months while his network was investigating.
The network stated: its “extensive review found that Williams made a number of inaccurate statements about his own role and experiences covering events in the field. The statements in question did not, for the most part, occur on NBC News platforms or in the immediate aftermath of the news events, but rather on late-night programs and during public appearances, usually years after the news events in question.”
“After nearly three decades as an award-winning journalist and anchor at MSNBC and NBC News, Brian Williams has informed us he would like to take the coming months to spend time with his family. He will be signing off from The 11th Hour at the end of the year” –MSNBC internal memo.”
