According to Coin Geek, McAfee tweeted on June 8, 2019, claiming he has data that could indicate widespread corruption at all levels of government. The only way he can keep the information private is if the government stops pressuring him, as he sees it.
McAfee claims that well-connected friends have informed him that a case is being prepared against him for murder, racketeering, and money laundering. He claims to have “31 gigabytes” of material that will be disclosed if he is apprehended. He goes on to say that he’ll begin with a “corrupt CIA operative and two Bahamian officials.”
“I’ve collected papers on government corruption,” he threatened in a tweet two days ago. I’m mentioning names and specifics for the first time. I’ll start with a shady CIA operative and two Bahamian government officials. Today is the day. 31+ gigabytes of incriminating material will be disclosed to the press if I am jailed or disappear.”
The controversial McAfee developed the antivirus software company that bears his name and has recently become a Bitcoin influencer. John McAfee was 75 years old when he died.
He passed away on Wednesday.
