Texas Rep. Steve Toth Has Filed a Bill to Conduct Forensic Audits In The State’s Top 13 Population Counties

A BILL TO BE CALLED AN ACT that would require a forensic audit of the 2020 election results in specific counties.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE STATE OF TEXAS LEGISLATURE:
SECTION 1. Chapter 280 of Title 16, Election Code, is added to read as follows:
FORENSIC AUDIT OF THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTION (CHAPTER 280)
Sec. 280.001. GENERAL ELECTION FORENSIC AUDIT IN 2020. (a) The governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker of the house of representatives shall appoint an impartial third party to perform a forensic audit of the November 3, 2020 general election.
(c) The appointment of an independent third party

(c) The audit must commence no later than November 1, 2021, and end no later than February 1, 2022, as specified in this section.
(d) By March 1, 2022, the independent third party conducting the audit under this section must submit a report detailing any anomalies or discrepancies in voter data, ballot data, or tabulation to the governor, lieutenant governor, speaker of the house of representatives, and each member of the legislature.
(f) This chapter will be repealed on April 1, 2022.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if two-thirds of all members elected to each house vote in favor of it, as required by Section 39, Article III of the Texas Constitution. If this Act is not passed,
