In Retaliation For The 1/6 Probe, Gaetz Drops a Bomb on Pelosi, Threatening to Seize Her Phone Records

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) issued a scathing statement to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) last week, retaliating against her House committee investigating the January 6 Capitol disturbance, which pushed to retain his phone and computer records.
According to Raw Story, Gaetz retaliated by threatening to seize Pelosi’s phone records if Republicans regain control of the House in 2022.

“They want to cast this cloud of criminality,” Gaetz stated, referring to Nancy Pelosi’s actions. “Nancy Pelosi had better be careful what she wishes for, because the new tradition in the House of Representatives is to look into personal records when one party gets power.
“Perhaps we should look into Nancy Pelosi’s phone records with her husband, who profited millions of dollars from stock transactions and technological bills passing through the parliamentary process,” he continued.
Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and members of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s (D-NY) radically liberal Squad are among the Democratic lawmakers whose records could be confiscated next year, according to Gaetz.
Gaetz continued, “This is unprecedented, this is Marxist, and I look forward to standing up to it.” “Resist efforts to turn Congress into a weapon against its own members and elected officials.”
This comes after House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (D-CA) warned that under a Republican majority, corporations that participate with Pelosi’s January 6 panel will be punished, warning that “a Republican majority will not forget.”
McCarthy singled out Pelosi, as well as Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Bennie Thompson (D-MI), for “attempts to coerce private firms into handing over individuals’ private data.” According to Politico, the House Minority Leader argued that such a data forfeiture would “put every American with a phone or computer in the crosshairs of a surveillance state run by Democrat politicians.”
“These corporations will be in breach of federal law and risk losing their ability to operate in the United States if they comply with the Democrat mandate to turn over private information,” McCarthy added. “If corporations continue to defy federal law, a Republican president will be held accountable.
