Gretchen Whitmer Destroyed As Michigan County Denies Orders Issued By Her

Another Michigan county passed a resolution criticizing Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) controversial lockdown orders this week, bringing her bad news.
Cheboygan County joined other Michigan counties in passing Resolution 2021-06, which states that the county is “supporting (the) joint effort by Michigan counties in resisting current and possible unilateral orders given by Governor Whitmer and state agencies in response to (coronavirus).” Antrim, Baraga, Delta, Grand Traverse, Houghton, Kalkaska, and Menominee counties “have recently passed resolutions denouncing arbitrarily issued directives by Governor Whitmer and various state agencies,” according to the majority of commissioners.

The resolution also said, “Cheboygan County wishes to express our unity with the other counties.”
The commissioners went on to say that COVID-19 “has triggered an extraordinary moment in our history; but, even in times of crisis, our society’s fundamental civil liberties and foundations must be preserved.”
The resolution declared that “Governor Whitmer and various state agencies should not have the power to arbitrarily enact directives that effectively equate to laws,” and that “differing views on the course to be taken in response” to the virus should be discussed and determined by “legislators who have been duly elected by the Citizens of the State of Michigan.”
The commissioners said, “The punitive orders that have been given so far during the pandemic have resulted in irreparable harm to the economy, youth education, and mental health of citizens in Cheboygan County.”
According to meeting minutes from February 9, Missaukee County commissioners stated that “the right and responsibility of individuals to self-determine what is best for their own health, liberty, and pursuit of happiness is important and assured by our Constitution, which we have taken an oath to protect and uphold,” and that “the right and responsibility of individuals to self-determine what is best for their own health, liberty, and pursuit of happiness is necessary and ensured by our Constitution, which we have taken an oath to.
Commissioner Star Hughston told Breitbart News at the time that “no one had the right, particularly her, to tell us that we had to” wear masks, close businesses, and obey her other orders. “We aren’t knuckleheads. We can choose what is best for us, and if you choose to wear a face mask because you have health issues, I believe you should. It is, however, your right not to wear one if you so desire.
