GOP Rep. Tenney Rips Cuomo For Nursing Home Scanal – ‘This Is Vintage Cuomo’

On Friday, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) spoke out to slam New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for defending his care of nursing home patients in the wake of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

Tenney told Fox News that in New York’s capital city there is no “bigger pay-to-play politician” than Cuomo, and that it is nice to see him finally facing scrutiny.

“This is Cuomo vintage,” she said. “He still sounds this way. He’s intimidating. He points with his fingers. He accuses other persons. He unbelievably blames other people, is partisan, and engages in pay-to-play as he accused Assemblyman Ron Kim. In Albany, there is no better pay-to-play politician than Governor Andrew Cuomo.

For a long time, he has been doing this. In 2010, I was elected to the state assembly at the same time as he was elected as governor. Whether we look at the New York start-up, which ended up being one of his closest friends who he considered his third pal, Percoco, went to prison, was an abuse of power after another. There have been concerns about the Buffalo Billion. All these different problems are there.

“And then we’re leading to a nursing home scandal,” said Tenney. And actually, in March of this year, I was very interested in that regard, and I made a request and a letter to Attorney General Barr from the Department of Justice and asked the Inspector General in April to look into it.

And in that letter and on May 6, I renewed the call and said we need to get down to this because I could see that the Cuomo administration had some sort of obstruction and cover-up.

Fortunately, it was only discovered on the Zoom call. So, this is the governor—this is how Andrew Cuomo works. For 11 years, he has been doing this. The explanation why nobody really knows about this is that he was largely sponsored by the Albany media. They didn’t criticise him. Until now, he has undergone no scrutiny.
