For the previous five years, Stephen Colbert’s Late Show has dominated late-night ratings, but now Gutfeld has surpassed him.

This is just breathtaking.

With Greg Gutfeld’s Gutfeld! dethroning Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show in overall viewership, the late-night comedy world has a new king of laughter.

The right-leaning Fox News show Gutfeld! also drew the most viewers in the sought-after 25-54 age range.

The network’s bold attempt to compete with CBS’ Late Show and Jimmy Kimmel’s Tonight Show may have sounded dangerous at first, but viewership suggests the gamble is paying off.

The edition of Gutfeld! that aired at 11 p.m. EST on Tuesday received 2.12 million viewers, with 434,000 of them falling within the critical age group.

Colbert’s audience of nearly 1.9 million viewers at 11.35 p.m. came in second, with 423,000 persons in the target demographic.

Gutfeld! premiered on April 5 and is hosted by the long-time television personality and Fox News presenter, who has previously slammed his comedy opponents.

Greg and his team deserve a pat on the back. They have accomplished what was previously supposed to be impossible.

They broke the liberal monopoly on late-night programming.
