Former Pfizer VP: The pandemic is effectively over

Although Pfizer Pharmaceuticals made headlines by announcing the impending introduction of their COVID-19 vaccine with great fanfare, a former Vice President and Chief Scientist for the company has categorically denied the need for any vaccines to end the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Michael Yeadon, who “spent over 30 years heading new [allergy and respiratory] medicines research in some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical firms” before retiring from Pfizer with “the most senior research role in this area,” wrote in a recent article:

Vaccines are not needed to bring the pandemic to an end. I’ve never heard so much nonsense about vaccines before. People who aren’t immune aren’t vaccinated.
You also don’t plan to vaccinate millions of otherwise healthy people with a vaccine that hasn’t been thoroughly tested on humans.
The British national’s remarks come at the end of a scathing critique of the Scientific Advisor Group for Emergencies (SAGE), a UK government body charged with providing emergency advice to the central government. SAGE was heavily involved in the creation of public lockdown policies in the United Kingdom, including those that were recently introduced in response to the COVID-19 virus.
Yeadon highlights two fundamental flaws in SAGE’s presuppositions that cause their overall assumptions to go drastically awry, leading to the “torturing [of] the population over the last seven months or so,” after pointing out that SAGE lacked basic skills in the area they are discussing, with “no clinical immunologists” as participants.
The first mistake SAGE makes is assuming that “100% of the population was vulnerable to the virus and that no pre-existing immunity existed.”
This notion, according to Yeadon, is “ridiculous,” since “if SARS-CoV-2 is novel, coronaviruses are not.” There isn’t such a thing as a ‘ancestor-less virus.'”
Indeed, there are at least “four, endemic, common-cold causing coronaviruses… [that] circulate freely in the UK and elsewhere,” as he points out. Many that have been infected with “one or more of these endemic, common-cold generating coronaviruses in the past have a long-lived and robust [T-cell] immunity, not only to those viruses, but also to viruses that are closely related.” SARS-CoV-2 is an example of a virus that is closely related.”
“To not assume such cross-over is… to show the lack of the necessary understanding to construct a model reliable enough to use,” Dr. Yeadon says, slamming SAGE’s competence once more.
Furthermore, he claims that the common PCR test for detecting COVID-19 “events” can result in a positive result when someone is infected with one of these common cold coronaviruses, making the test even less accurate. Of course, tens of thousands of people have been told to interrupt their lives and “self-quarantine” for up to 14 days based on the final results of these experiments.
