The former President Barack Obama met several donors thirteen months before the s presidential elections, and he pulled strings but not for his 8-year-old vice president!
On Friday, the Hill shared an excerpt from the book written by Amie Parnes from The Hill and Jonathan Allen of NBC. The book is called “Lucky: How Joe Biden Barely Won the Presidency?”

We can read that Obama supported the Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts in a meeting where 40 black donors attended. All of them were from the private sector!
The Democrats had four primary contenders:
- Elizabeth Warren
- Joe Biden
- Kamala Harris
- Pete Buttigieg
In the excerpt shared by The Hill, we can see that Obama preferred Warren over anyone else, and he urged donors to back her!
At that time, Warren was rising in the polls.
“The biggest obstacle to her success, it seemed, was convincing the establishment that she was truly different from Bernie, enough of a mainstream politician to be trusted with the reins of government. Now Obama was making that case for her,”
Obama justified his choice and said that he knew Elizabeth very long and well. They were colleagues at Harvard, and during his time in the Senate, she testified as an expert witness.
Also, Obama stated that many people want to be the president, but very few have a “why.”
Elizabeth Warren wanted to raise the wealthy citizens’ taxes, and Obama supported her in that view!
Besides, Obama justified himself that that wasn’t an endorsement! “He’d just given his seal of approval to Warren without using the ‘e’ word.”
Buttigieg was humiliated, and Obama said that he is the major of a small town; he’s short and gay!
