Dr. Anthony Fauci: Omicron Is Already In USA! Vaccines Will Have Emerging Variant! [WATCH]

Dr. Fauci on Saturday stated that the vaccine could contain the new variant, thus saving the population.
“I would not be surprised if it is,” Fauci said when asked if the new variant is already in the US.
“We have not detected it yet, but when you have a virus that is showing this degree of transmissibility, and you’re already having travel-related cases that they’ve noted in Israel and Belgium and other places when you have a virus like this, it almost invariably is ultimately going to go essentially all over,” Fauci said on NBC’s Weekend Today show.
“The vaccines that we use may very well be able to contain this, and then [Omicron] won’t be as serious as some people are surmising it might be,” he said. “A lot of unknowns, which is the reason why we’re all over this.”

This Friday, BioNTech/Pfizer shared that they will know if the vaccine was effective against the new mutation within a couple of weeks.
“We expect more data from the laboratory tests in two weeks at the latest. These data will provide more information about whether B.1.1.529 could be an escape variant that may require an adjustment of our vaccine if the variant spreads globally,” BioNTech said in a statement.
Pfizer announced that if the vaccine we already have proven ineffective against the variant, this company will have a new vaccine shipped within 100 days.
