Cruz Gets Fire For Travelling To A Vacation Spot In The Middle of a Texas Crisis

As millions of Texans suffered from power outages during a rare cold snap, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) came under fire for traveling to Cancun, Mexico.
Power outages were triggered early on Monday morning by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).

Millions of Texans went for days without electricity.
Ted Cruz went with his family for a long-planned trip to Cancun, according to the Associated Press.

Temperatures fell with wind chills near zero into the teens around Dallas and 20s around Houston.

Nearly half of Texas’ wind turbines have frozen, according to state officials, harming power supplies.
Partially due to the frozen wind turbines, millions of Texans suffered blackouts.
Due to the winter weather, at least 20 people died this week.
Update: Ted Cruz said this afternoon he is flying back to Texas.
