When asked about Cam Newton’s vaccine status and his recent release, Belichick stated emphatically that “vaccine status” was not the cause for his release, and then went on to say that “vaccine status” was not the reason for his release…
“I would just point out that I don’t know what the figure is — you guys can look it up, you have a lot of information — but the number of players, coaches, and staff people who have been infected with COVID in this training camp who have been vaccinated is a really significant number,” Coach Belichick stated. As a result, I wouldn’t lose sight of it.”

And we’ve had a small number of players who have been vaccinated, but there have been a large number of players who have had the virus who have been inoculated across the league.
