A former president of Planned Parenthood and a George Washington University professor proposed that the Biden administration go full Stalin and strip Americans of their constitutional and civil rights in order to “incentivize” them to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The suggestion was made by Dr. Leana Wen, a public health professor, in a mid-March interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, but a clip of the segment only went viral on social media on Thursday and Friday.

Wen believed that “the vaccine is the ticket back to pre-pandemic life” for Americans, adding that “we have a very small window to tie reopening policy to vaccination status because otherwise, what’s the carrot going to be if all is reopened?” “How are we going to encourage people to get the vaccine?”
“That is why I believe the CDC and the Biden administration can be more forthright and say, ‘If you’re vaccinated, you can do all of these things,’ and ‘Here are all of your freedoms.’ People would go out and enjoy their freedoms anyway if they don’t have them,” she said.
CNN confirmed this week, quoting an administration official, that the White House is “working on developing a set of guidelines for people to show they’ve been vaccinated against” the virus.
According to CNN, the Biden administration is collaborating on the requirements with a variety of firms, including non-profits and big tech, though “they are possibly still weeks away from being finalized,” according to the unnamed official.
According to the CNN study, many federal agencies “are engaged in dialogue and preparation,” much of which is orchestrated by the White House, “as this kind of scheme can play a role in many areas of life, including potentially the military.”
Interestingly, despite more Americans being vaccinated — and therefore immunized — Wen recently stated in a separate interview with Cuomo that the nation will see another increase in COVID positives.
“We’re on the verge of a fourth surge that we’ve been anticipating, and we see that — you listed 15 or so states that are already seeing a rise in the number of infections,” she said. “These more transmissible variants are increasingly becoming prevalent in the United States.”
She criticized states for repealing mask laws, despite the fact that the CDC released a report on the anniversary of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s infamous “don’t wear a mask” speech, which received almost no media attention.
The CDC also declared on Friday that vaccinated Americans will travel internationally without fear of quarantine or testing before or after flights.
The new advice was focused on “rapidly changing” data on vaccinated people, according to the CDC.
