In this event, 22 Republican Attorney Generals from around the country have banded together to take on the Democrats and their new nefarious plan.
As you are probably aware, the Democrats are doing all they can to expand their majority in the House and Senate.
They’re up to all kinds of shenanigans, one of which is to turn the DC swamp into a territory.
And you already know why they’re doing it… They can’t win elections without cheating, so they’ll have to find another way to rig the system.
That’s where the 22 AGs enter the image. They’re standing in the middle of the room, saying “no way.”
Making DC a “dom” is unlawful and illegal, according to the 22nd Attorney General.
Twenty-two Republican Attorneys General wrote a letter to Congress and the Biden administration, arguing that Washington, D.C. would only become a state by a Constitutional amendment, according to Breitbart.
“We will use every legal means at our disposal to protect the United States Constitution and the rights of our states against this unconstitutional attempt to grant statehood to the District of Columbia if this Congress passes and President Biden signs this Act into law,” Fox News said.
The letter concluded, “Not only does Congress lack the authority to establish an entirely new state out of the District, but it also lacks the authority to reduce the District’s size to the equivalent of a few federal buildings and surrounding parks.”
The letter comes as Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) introduces H.R. 51, a bill that would shrink the district while transferring the vacated land to another state.
Republicans see D.C. statehood as a blatant power grab, and many legal experts believe the Supreme Court would rule that it is illegal for the reasons stated by these authorities over the years.
According to the article, Justice Antonin Scalia opposed turning DC into a state while serving on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
