BREAKING: Mike Pompeo Joins Fox News as a Contributor

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo joined Fox News as a contributor on Thursday morning, and his first appearance will be on Friday’s Fox & Friends.

“On foreign policy and national security matters, Mike Pompeo is one of America’s most well-known and valued voices. In a tweet, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said, “I look forward to his contributions across our variety of platforms to share his distinct viewpoint with our millions of viewers.”

Under former President Donald Trump, Pompeo served as the Head of the Central Intelligence Agency and Secretary of State. He previously served in the lower chamber of the United States Congress as a delegate for a Kansas district.

“In this new position at Fox News Media, as a now-former diplomat and member of Congress, I expect to give viewers a frank, no-nonsense look at geopolitics, foreign affairs, and the America First policies that helped chart the path for unprecedented American prosperity and security,” Pompeo said.

Pompeo is a firm believer in Trump’s “America First” strategy. Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis was once quoted as saying that removing “America First” from the national security plan was “dead wrong.” He told The Epoch Times in February that the “American First” strategy had worked in a wide variety of foreign policy areas that others had deemed unlikely.

Pompeo is the newest Trump administration official to join Fox News. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the former White House press secretary, entered Fox News in September 2019 after leaving the White House. In January, she left the network to run for governor of Arkansas.

Since February and March, former Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow and former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany have joined Fox News. Lara Trump, Trump’s daughter-in-law and former campaign senior advisor, joined Fox News as a contributor in late March.

Pompeo will provide commentary across all Fox News Media outlets, including daytime and primetime coverage on Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.

Pompeo, a well-known former cabinet member with a strong conservative track record, hasn’t ruled out a presidential bid in 2024.

Last month, he replied to a query about a potential 2024 run from Fox News’ Sean Hannity, saying, “I’m still up for a good fight.”
