And believe me, it shows a totally different Floyd than what we’ve seen in the video that shook the whole world a year ago.
This surveillance footage was never released before this day, and from it, we can see Floyd manifesting abusive, alcoholic or drugged behaviour in public. And the boy that works in the store also confirmed that during questioning regarding the footage of the time.
“Video showed that Floyd appeared animated, a bit unsteady on his feet as he ambled about Cup Foods and eventually bought cigarettes with a suspected fake $20 bill,” the Star Tribune reported.
“When you were communicating with him, what was his demeanor like?” Minnesota Asst. Attorney General Matthew Frank asked the boy.
“When I asked him if he played baseball he went on to respond,” the boy named Martin answered. “But it kind of took him a little longer to get to what he was trying to say. So, it appeared that he was high.”
And the results from his autopsy also showed numerous health issues that can be caused by previous overuse of drugs, alcohol and other toxins. His insights were completely ruined.
“A full autopsy report on George Floyd, the man who died after being restrained by Minneapolis police last month, reveals that he was positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19,” NPR reported. “The 20-page report also indicates that Floyd had fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death, although the drugs are not listed as the cause.”
The autopsy report made by Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that the cause of death was “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.”
