On Monday, Biden called for a “full-fledged investigation” into Daunte Wright’s fatal officer-involved shooting in Minneapolis on Sunday evening. Riots broke out in the aftermath of the incident.
Mike Elliot, the mayor of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, where the incident occurred, has been in constant contact with Biden by phone since the incident.
“I haven’t called Daunte Wright’s family,” Biden told the media on Monday. “But our prayers are with their family.” It was a horrific event, but I believe we must wait to see what the investigation, the whole investigation, reveals. I hope you all watched the video — the body-cam — as I did.

“Was it an accident, or did it happen on purpose? An in-depth investigation would be needed to ascertain this. But, in the meantime, I’d like to emphasize that there is no excuse for abuse. Protests that are peaceful? This is understandable.”
The body camera of the involved officer has been made public, and it shows the officer pulling out her gun rather than her taser.
Of course, her motivation and state of mind are in question.
