The Rust shooting is still under investigation by the New Mexico authorities, but a lot of videos have just been released from the day of the shooting.
TMZ has managed to get their hands on police bodycam footage from the day of the shooting that focused on “Rust” Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.
In this clip, you can see she’s very focused on her career, and how this is the worst day of her life… I am sure the dead woman and her family would beg to differ…
Recent reports have found that the Armourer on the set didn’t have the proper tool nor the time to do her job that day.
“Long in the spotlight for Alec Baldwin’s fatal shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last October, the film’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed is now declaring a degree of vindication after a vital safety report’s release Wednesday.
“After OSHA’s very comprehensive safety investigation involving numerous interviews and review of documents, it has concluded that production willfully failed to follow national gun safety standards, which caused this tragedy,” Reed’s lawyer Jason Bowles told Deadline on Wednesday. “OSHA found that Hannah Gutierrez Reed was not provided adequate time or resources to conduct her job effectively, despite her voiced concerns,” the Albuquerque, New Mexico-based attorney noted.
This next video is the police interview with Alec Baldwin right after the shooting occurred.
“I take the gun out, and the barrel clears, turn and cock the gun, I turn and cock the gun, the gun goes off,” said Baldwin.
He explains his perspective of the incident minutes after he sits down with investigators.
“I take the gun out slowly, I turn and cock the pistol, bang it goes off she hits the ground she goes down, he goes down screaming,” Baldwin said.
Baldwin talks about Halyna Hutchins and Joel Souza’s positioning on the set that day – thinking it was just a rehearsal.
“They were standing in positions they wouldn’t normally be in because they assume it was an empty, cold gun,” said Baldwin.
Investigators become pointed with their questions.
Deputy: “Do you think that any part of this incident that occurred was intentional?”
Baldwin: “I can only say this, which is to me, to place a bullet and position a bullet that is a live round – to make sure that that bullet is in the chamber if I were to squeeze the trigger in rehearsal that that bullet came out – someone has to have extraordinary access to that weaponry to do that.”
This was only the beginning of countless questions and months of investigating how this could have happened.
“I’ve never heard of anything like this in my life. Ever. I’ve never heard of a projectile coming out of a prop gun that went through a person’s body,” said Baldwin.
Here’s the shocking video from the EMT bodycam.
