The decisive answer of the governor made everything clear. He said that Trump’s family was perfect because he’s worked with them. But, Trump will have a voice as a former president, and many voices are in the party. People shouldn’t allow Trump to define America’s future.
“We’ve got to define it ourselves, and that has to be based upon the principles that gave us the strength in America.”
He told the audience that they have to respond to Trump’s supporters. They have to identify with the issues that gave him the primary election and provide support during his presidency.
“There is one that we have to reach out to, but it’s based upon conservative principles and reaching out to the blue-collar voters that are important and identify with him because he’s fighting for them, and we’ve got to take that message, but we just got to handle it in a different way with different personalities.”
Also, Will Hurd, a Former Texas Rep. who retired in 2020, commented similarly in his interview with MSNBC’s “Meet The Press.”
According to him, Trump was the president that lost the House, the Senate, and the White House during those four years. Herbert Hoover did the same but during the Great Depression in the 1930s.
“And you know when you look at in 2020 elections, the number of Republicans that were successful significantly outperformed President Trump.”
No one has yet confirmed that Donald Trump will run for president in the elections in 2024. The time will show who will give their vote for the former president of the United States of America.
