Anti-Trump Republicans Threaten To Leave Party Because of Liz Cheney

Following Liz Cheney’s removal as Republican conference chair, a small group of anti-Trump Republicans have threatened to quit the party and possibly form their own.
These are the same anti-Trump Republicans who threaten to abandon the Republican Party three or four times a year. It’s become a daily ruse for them.

If the GOP does not change, a new anti-Trump coalition of Republican leaders has threatened to withdraw.
Following the ouster of conservative Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney from the House GOP leadership, approximately 150 Republican and former Republican leaders who condemn former President Trump’s continued stronghold on the GOP have signed a letter threatening to quit the party if he is not removed.
The group’s values statement, dubbed a “Call for American Renewal,” was released on Thursday. It lays out 13 guiding principles for a “rebirth of the American cause.”
“As a result, we announce our intent to catalyze an American renewal by either re-imagining a party committed to our founding principles or hastening the emergence of such an alternative,” the declaration promises.
Evan McMullin, a former GOP intelligence policy analyst and 2016 independent presidential candidate, and Miles Taylor, who served as chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security during the Trump administration, spearheaded the message.
