Anti-Trump Psychiatrist Accuses Yale For Firing Her

Dr. Brandy Lee filed a 21-page report against Yale University, claiming that they abused her free speech rights by firing her for criticizing former President Donald Trump, according to the Yale Daily News.
The issue stems from a tweet from Dr. Lee in January 2020, in which he said “almost all” Trump supporters were suffering from a “shared psychosis.”
Attorney Alan Dershowitz, a well-known liberal, protested to Yale’s administration that Lee’s diagnosis of a public figure was against the American Psychiatric Association’s code of ethics.

Alan Dershowitz’s employing the odd use of “perfect”—not even a synonym—might be dismissed as ordinary influence in most contexts. However, given the severity and spread of “shared psychosis” among just about all of Donald Trump’s followers, a different scenario is more likely. https://t.co/m3XK3ztQgA

Dr. Lee had previously been lauded by the liberal mass media for using her doctor status to compare the former President to Hitler, according to the New York Post.
In the now-deleted tweet, Lee said, “Donald Trump is not Adolf Hitler.” “At the very least, Hitler changed the daily lives of his followers, was disciplined, and demanded more of himself in order to win their esteem. Even when it comes to the same pathology, there are different levels of competence.”
Despite the explosive language directed at Trump, Lee has not been so quick to diagnose President Biden, despite ongoing questions about his mental health.
Dr. Lee ironically made a free speech claim in his case against Yale. “I love my alma mater, Yale, as much as I love my country, but we’re slipping into a dangerous culture of self-censorship and blind obedience to authority.”
Court records contradict Lee’s story, including emails from Psychiatry Department chair John Krystal advising Dr. Lee that tweeting about Trump’s mental health was unacceptable.
This slap on the wrist turned into a formal meeting between Lee, Krystal, and other faculty members to discuss psychiatric ethics violations. According to the papers, Dr. Lee was simply dismissed procedurally in May 2020.
