Just until yesterday, their happiness seemed like such a normal thing. a roof over the head, bills paid, education plans, food on the table, and a pet around your legs under the dinner table.
A tree falling out of nowhere on the very road took all that away and the happiness and future from these 5 unfortunate kids.
A local newspaper stated that “This married couple – parents of 5 kids – took their annual drive up Route 99, which is lined with giant California redwood trees on a beautiful, sunny day – no wind – just perfect, when all of a sudden – out of nowhere – a gigantic 175-foot tree crashed down on the car, killing the couple instantly and changing the family dynamic forever.”

The report continues: “Jessica and Jake Woodruff were driving on Thursday down Route 199 toward the coast in Northern California when the 175-foot-tall tree crashed down on their 2016 Honda Accord. Jake, 36, was driving Jessica up the coast to celebrate her 45th birthday, an annual tradition for the couple, who live in Yreka with their children.”
“This was a shocking and unexpected event, and the tragedy of this accident makes it difficult to accept as real,” a family friend wrote on a GoFundMe campaign, with the honest intention to support the couple’s five children.
Also, experts stated that the very day, the weather was still, there was almost no sign of wind, so the chances that the tree would fall on the road that day were one in a billion.
‘We have trees everywhere. It’s in the middle of the redwoods. It’s just old-growth and we have no idea why the tree fell. It was Mother Nature,’ California Highway Patrol Officer, Brandy Gonzalez stated.
‘The timing of everything was very, very unusual,’ she added, obviously shaken from the event.
You really never know when the judgment hour to meet your maker is going to knock on the door.
It takes us all to just wait, and not waste our waiting time by being vain – simple acts of kindness on every corner is what it will make a man truly live forever.
